Every franchise brand you know has filed for a trademark!
But when is the best time in your brand’s development to file a trademark application?
Let’s take a look at when some of Taiwan’s most well-known beverage chains registered theirs:
- 50 Lan, the leading beverage brand, was founded in 1994 (Year 83 ROC), and applied for its trademark on June 3, 1997.
- Jenjudan, founded in 2010 at Shilin Night Market, submitted its first trademark application on Christmas Day 2014, and later applied for “珍煮母” on December 16, 2017.
- Chun Shui Tang, established in 1983 in Taichung’s West District, filed its first trademark in 1988.
- Xian He Dao, launched in 2016, had already filed a trademark in 2015—even before officially opening. No surprise, since it's a brand from a larger group.
Here’s a fun fact you may already know: Xian He Dao and Rose House (Classical Rose Garden) come from the same parent company.
You’ve probably seen those quirky new brands with signs that say:
“A hundred-year brand, Year One begins today.”
Whether or not you follow Amazon’s “Every day is Day 1” philosophy,
once you file a trademark application, you’ve started writing your brand’s story.
